EDUC-762: Assessment in E-Learning
Learning Objective 4
Learning Objective
Students will demonstrate their ability to make conclusions from real world situations modeled with systems of linear equations and check their solutions for reasonability and applicability, by presenting their scenario using Jing with 85% accuracy according to the project rubric.
Activity
Students will view uploaded tutorials on how to write equations to model situations involving systems of linear equations. Some examples are mixture, and value quantity problems. Students will practice individually and take a practice assessment to make sure they are grasping the content.
Assessment
Students will complete a Smarter Balanced performance task type question and submit their work using Jing. Each student will be given a different scenario and work will be uploaded for peer review. (The assessment can be found below)
Tool Description: Jing
Jing is an online presentation tool that allows for screen capture video with audio enhancements. Jing is free, but does require a download that may prevent some from using it over a web-based application. Jing's free version has limited capabilities. Captured videos are limited to five minutes and students must have a microphone to complete the voice over. The ease of use is a large incentive.
