Getting to Know Mrs. Brink
I was born and raised in Green Bay, WI. I graduated from Bay Port High School in 2002. In 2006, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree with a Math Major and German Minor from UW-Stevens Point. I am currently working on my Masters of Science degree in Education with an emphasis on E-Learning and Online Teaching from UW-Stout with an anticipated graduation of Summer 2015.
My first teaching assignment was at Tomah High School in Tomah, WI. I taught Math Applications, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2. I also served as Student Council Adviser. During the school year my husband took a position working for another county with housing provided. When a teaching job opened in our new community, it was a perfect fit.
My second and current teaching assignment is at Necedah Middle/High School in Necedah, WI. Over the course of several years, I transitioned from full-time high school to currently splitting my day between middle school and high school. I currently teach Math 7, Math 8, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus. In the 2009-2010 school year, I inaugurated the school's first Advanced Placement (AP) Program, AP Calculus AB. I have also taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Financial Math. I currently serve as Senior Class Adviser, National Honor Society Adviser, and Assistant Forensics Coach.
Teaching at Necedah has provided me with many opportunities for professional growth. In 2010 I was awarded a Fund for Teachers Fellowship to travel through Europe studying math history. The following year I presented my experience at my favorite annual conference to attend, the Green Lake Math Conference. I look forward to my CESA's summer professional development opportunities in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education. I have attended five summers in addition to many other workshops and conferences focusing on Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and aligning curriculum.
More details about coursework and involvement can be found in my resume.
