EDUC-761: Creating Collaborative Communities in E-Learning
Community Matrix
This is a list of tools I would use in my online course with a description of why I would choose to incorporate. It is important to have a variety of tools to differentiate tasks, but it is equally important that the amount of tools is not too vast.

Rationale
1. Discussion boards are a way for learners and facilitators to interact with each other and the content. The facilitator can share updates. Learners can help each other process new content. 2. Google Drive allows students to collaborate on assignments and facilitators to provide feedback through comments. 3. Through Google Hangouts students and facilitators can chat through text or video. They may also screen cast to each other to work together. 4. When issues arise, this will be the primary contact method. Email has no time-bounds, so as concerns arise email can be exchanged. If further assistance or communication is needed it can be arranged through email. 5. Through Quizlet facilitators and learners may share sets of flash cards with each other to promote content understanding. 6. Haiku is the Learning Management System my district uses. It is a program that is paid for. 7. Our class Google site will allow learners to share resources and content information. 8. Khan Academy allows students to view instructional tutorials, practice skills viewed, and receive feedback. |
