EDUC-762: Assessment in E-Learning
Learning Objective 3
Learning Objective
Students will demonstrate their ability to analyze systems of linear equations in terms of slope to determine the type of intersection the two lines have, by creating a Google document with 85% accuracy according to the document rubric.
Activity
Students will be given a set of systems of linear equations. For each they are to identify the slope of each line and then solve using a method from previous objective. Comparisons will be made.
Assessment
Students will sort systems of equations based on slope criteria and write a new system of equations for each of the possible solution types (one solution, no solution, infinitely many solutions.) This work will be shared in a Google document with a template being provided.
Tool Description: Google Document
Google documents have many incentives for use. It is free, can be shared with other users, images can be incorporated, and much more. Collaborative efforts are with ease utilizing the chat and comment features. One downfall is that if a school "hasn't gone Google" students will need to create accounts. Another concern is that students need to be taught appropriate use because once a Google account is created accessibility to other features is as well.
